GRQC names Performance Excellence Award finalists

Greater Rochester Quality Council, a Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce affiliate, announced 19 finalists for its 2020 GRQC Performance Excellence Awards.

Through the award program, GRQC seeks to discover, recognize and learn from high-performing organizations in Greater Rochester. The following award finalists, representing business, public benefit corporations and health care, were selected for their applications in three categories:

Operations excellence: RRH Long-Term Care Division, “Making Better Decisions by Implementing Changes That Stick”; RRH Acute Care Division, “Reducing CAUTI and Catheters Utilization in the Hospital”; Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, “Preventing Falls Through Hourly Rounding”; RRH PCASI, “Adopting Point of Care Test Lead Screening in a Primary Care Setting”; and University of Rochester Medical Center, “Pursuing Excellence Initiative.”

Customer excellence: Gorbel, “Strategic Planning and Customer Service Excellence”; Hillside Children’s Center, “Family Satisfaction — Problem Handling”; and Strong Memorial Hospital, “Deaf Patient and Family Advisory Council.”

Team excellence: Children’s Institute, “Primary Project”; L3Harris Technologies, “Fulfillment Improvement at L3Harris — Tactical Communications Systems”; Hillside Children’s Center, “Foster Care Risk Screen Process” and “Children’s Health Home Outreach Policy and Procedure”; Huther Doyle Memorial Institute Inc., “Huther’s Helping Hands Food Pantry Selection Process”; Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, “Reduction of Pressure Ulcer in the ICU”; RRH Quality and Safety Institute, “SafeConnect RCA Optimization”; Golisano Children’s Hospital, “Automating Temperature Monitoring in Medical Equipment”; URMC Pediatric Emergency Department, “Improving Patient Flow and Decrease Patient Length of Stay”; URMC Highland Hospital, “W7 Pursuing Excellence Initiative”; and RRH Enterprise Program Management Office, “Leveraging Process Improvement for Systemwide Sustainability.”
