Perinton launches 2020 comprehensive plan
Perinton Town Supervisor Ciaran Hanna recently announced the launch of a 10-year comprehensive plan.
Perinton has updated its comprehensive plan every decade since 1959. The update will consider evolving trends in the town during the past 10 years and develop strategies to set the direction of the community’s growth and development into 2030.
“From world-renowned parks and trails to affordable living options, to quality services that rival any town, Perinton has so much to offer,” Hanna said. “As we plan for the next 10 years, we look forward to building on our already strong foundation. I ask residents to participate in the process by attending the open house and filling out the online survey. The comprehensive plan is our blueprint for the future and we need to hear from you on what matters most.”
Residents are invited to attend the comprehensive plan open house from 2 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 24 in Room 204 at the Perinton Community Center, 1350 Turk Hill Road, to learn about the process and share thoughts on future town improvements. Socially distant stations will be set up in compliance with all state guidelines.
All residents are asked to submit an online survey found at perintonplan.com. Topics covered in the survey include historic and cultural resources, open space, economic development, housing, transportation, and recreation.
The town of Perinton is working with Bergmann, an engineering, planning and architecture firm based in Rochester, to lead community engagement efforts and the development of the plan. The 2020 comprehensive plan is intended to guide the implementation of policies and strategies to realize the community’s future vision.
