Kiwanis members, their families and the public of the Genesee Division Kiwanis will have the opportunity to hear stories and first-hand accounts of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, when 9-11 survivor David Ricca comes to the Rochester area as the key note speaker.

Ricca will be the speaker for The Genesee Division Kiwanis Changing of the Banner ceremony at The Rochester Yacht Club. Ricca was working on the 73rd floor of the second tower in the World Trade Center when the second plane hit the building.

"During those dark moments, when I was caught in the stairwell of the building thinking that I would never see my family again, I prayed to see them again and also decided that I would devote my life towards contributing and embracing humanity," Ricca said, in a news release.

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at The Rochester Yacht Club, 5555 Saint Paul Blvd., Rochester. Tickets are $25 each, and include dinner. Tickets can be purchased by calling 585-544-5650.
