PAETEC CEO Arunas Chesonis' foundation has donated $1,000,000 towards a new building at the Harley School in Brighton.

The purpose of the Chesonis Commons is to be what they call a “living building.” Students have to operate it at net zero environmentally. In other words -- what ever water they use, they have to replenish with rain water.

Head of School Tim Cottrell said, "So they'll really experience how hard it is to run a sustainable building and over time with new ideas and problem solving they'll evolve the building year to year to be more and more sustainable."

Two of Arunas Chesonis' children went to Harley; one is still there.

The building -- built from a barn the school was gifted -- should be complete in two years.
